Diversified Communications recently presented its bi-annual awards – Service Awards and 7Cs Chairperson Award.

The Chairperson’s 7 Cs Award was presented to Madelyn Kearns, editor of Seafoodsource.com.

 

In recognition of their dedication and loyalty to Diversified, the company recognized the following employees for their years of service:
The five-year service award was presented to Jeane Baltzersen, a marketing data analyst; Kate Lyn Knight, a senior content manager; Leanne Walker, a senior research analyst and Joe Zidle, a data analyst.

David Kane, director of administration at the Portland Water District, has been honored with the New England Water Works Association’s Leadership Award.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership and contributions in the water works industry. Kane has more than 27 years of industry leadership experience. Kane is currently the assistant treasurer of New England Water Works Association.
He’s also a founding member of the Maine Water Utilities Financial Officers Group.

Balfantz, of Portland, concentrates his practice in all aspects of municipal, land-use, and administrative law. He previously served in the Marine Corps for 10 years as a judge advocate.

 

Joseph G. Carleton Jr. has practiced condominium and homeowner association law for over 30 years, representing major developers and large homeowner association clients.
Carleton, of Kittery, has been active in community affairs, serving on several civic and land-use boards and as town meeting moderator for 25 years. He will meet clients at Jensen Baird’s Kennebunk office.

Charlie Katz-Leavy of Falmouth is a member of the firm’s real estate and land-use and permitting practice groups. He handles commercial and residential real estate transactions. He also specializes in condominium and homeowner association law.

 

Alyssa C. Tibbetts of Scarborough is a member of the firm’s government services and employment law practice groups. She previously served as the assistant town manager for Cumberland.

Ryan Daly rejoined RPF Environmental Inc. as an environmental health and safety technician.
Daly first joined the firm in 2015. He is providing services including control projects requiring specialization in air sampling; water-related field work; and management of asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials.

 

Sam LeGeyt joined The Dunham Group’s brokerage team.
LeGeyt brings experience in the Greater Portland office and investment markets. He was previously a broker at Harnden Commercial Brokers.

Adam Segelstrom recently joined Siemens Industry Inc. Building Technologies as an associate project manager in New Hampshire.
Segelstrom was previously a project manager in the energy and automation industry.

 

Clare Morin has joined CD&M Communications as content marketing manager.
Morin brings 18 years of experience in content marketing strategy, public relations and journalism. She previously held diverse roles such as head of operations for a leading B2B tech content marketing agency and founding art editor of Time Out Hong Kong.

Bigelow Investment Advisors hired Donna Ewert as vice president and senior adviser.
Ewert, of Brunswick, previously worked as a high net worth financial adviser in New York City and Boston for Fidelity Investments. She also spent more than a decade as a portfolio manager and client adviser with Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors in Portland.

Charter Oak Capital Management announced two new hires.
Anna Pereira joined as a compliance officer. She previously worked in broker-dealer compliance for Foreside Financial Group in Portland.

 

 

 

Rocco Spizuoco was hired as a data reconciliation manager. He previously worked at Stone Coast Fund Services as a hedge fund accountant.

 

 

 

PROMOTIONS
Kleinschmidt Associates named Jon Christensen as their new chief executive officer.
Christensen joined the firm more than 30 years ago as licensing consultant. He held other roles such as a senior project manager and was chief financial officer for more than a decade.

Stephen deCastro was promoted to president at Gorham Savings Bank. Christopher Emmons, president and chief executive officer, will retire at the end of this year. Katherine Coster will be the bank’s new board chair. DeCastro became president on April 2, reporting to Emmons until the end of the year. He joined Gorham Savings Bank in July 2016 as executive vice president of commercial banking.

Kaitlyn Anderson, a producer at CBS 13, was recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation with its Gracie Award for a news program.
Anderson produces “Live at Five.” Her winning entry included storm coverage from February 2017.
She will be honored at a luncheon June 27 in New York City.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals – Northern New England Chapter recognized Robert Demont with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
Demont, of Cumberland, is president of Demont Associates.

Hugh Keene was named a recipient of the 2018 Ikaria Award by SeniorsPlus, the designated Agency on Aging for western Maine.
Keene, of Auburn, will be recognized for his outstanding contributions toward improving the lives of older adults. He served on the board of directors at SeniorsPlus as well as the advisory boards of SeniorsPlus and the Frye School Housing Development. Keene is a retired science teacher and drama coach at Edward Little High School in Auburn.

Dr. John Serrage, a longtime supporter and trustee of Opera Maine, was selected by Opera America to receive its 2018 National Opera Trustee Recognition Award.
Serrage, of Cape Elizabeth, has been a founding supporter of Opera Maine since 1995. He cultivated and managed Opera Maine’s Young Artist Program for many years.

Lutron Electronics has announced the winners of its 2017 5-Star Lighting Showroom Awards.
Lighting Concepts of Lewiston was recognized with the Shade Project of the Year Award and Connected Home Project of the Year Award.

Systems Engineering was named to CRN’s 2018 Managed Service Provider 500 list and was recognized as an MSP Pioneer 250.

The New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions recognized Funtown Splashtown USA owner and maintenance director Bill Cormier with its prestigious Alan E. Ramsay Safety Award.
Funtown Splashtown USA in Saco will open for its 52nd season May 12, weather permitting.

Clark Insurance was named a Silver ESOP Award winner by The ESOP Association.
The firm is one of 41 corporate members to be honored in 2018 with a Silver ESOP Award.
Based in Portland, Clark Insurance is a fully employee-owned company.

Kristen Bailey, chief marketing officer of ZipLine, gave a presentation at the national C-Store Loyalty Forum for convenience store industry executives in March in Chicago.
Bailey, a national expert on consumer experience, spoke about how to unify payment and loyalty in the guest experience with a presentation titled “Payment-Powered Loyalty.” She lives in Portland.

Rebecca Webber, a shareholder at Skelton Taintor & Abbott, was the featured presenter at a breakfast workshop held by the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Central Maine Human Resources Association.
Webber addressed employee issues faced by small businesses.

Dubois spent his early years at Baker, Newman, Noyes in Portland. He moved away but returned to the Portland area in 2010, working as an analyst for TD Bank and Idexx Labs.

 

Brandon Mazer joined Perkins Thompson as an associate attorney in the firm’s business practice group.
He focuses on the firm’s craft beverage specialty practice area.
Mazer previously served as general counsel for Shipyard Brewing Co. He is a past president of the Maine Brewers’ Guild and the current vice chair of the Portland Planning Board.

Drew Carter joined RPF Environmental Inc. as a business development representative.
Most recently, Carter was a sales director at Biz to Biz Network Inc.

 

 

Diversified Communications hired Chris Chase as an associate editor.
He previously worked for MaineToday Media in Bath.

PROMOTIONS
Melanie Cooper was promoted to director of human resources at FHC Inc.
Cooper first joined FHC in 2015 as the human resources manager. She previously served as the HR manager at J.S. McCarthy Printers in Augusta and taught high school English and humanities in Maine and New Hampshire.

Kennebunk Savings hired Dennis Tuttle as chief information officer and senior vice president. Tuttle, of Auburn, has more than 30 years of experience in the technology field. He most recently was systems director of Technology Support Services with Covenant Health out of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, the parent health system of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Betty Nelson joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England. She has been affiliated with the company’s office in Kennebunk as a sales associate. Nelson, of Limington, will provide residential real estate services in York and Cumberland counties.

 

 

PROMOTIONS
Norway Savings Bank promoted six employees.
Deb McPhail was promoted to senior vice president, deposit operations. McPhail joined the bank in 1982, when it was Coastal Bank, which later merged with Norway Savings in 2001.

 

Rob Harville was promoted to vice president, commercial lending. He joined the bank in 2006 and was promoted to assistant vice president and commercial lender in 2011.

 

Kelly Sturmer was promoted to vice president, market manager. Sturmer joined Norway Savings in 2008 and was later promoted to assistant vice president, market manager.

 

Tici Conant was promoted to assistant vice president, commercial administration. Conant joined the bank in 1997 as a commercial loan administrator in its office on Exchange Street in Portland. In 2011, Conant transferred to the Windham branch.

Janel Danforth was promoted to assistant vice president, retail strategies analyst. Danforth has been a member of the retail support team for more than six years.

 

Pam Gaudet was promoted to assistant vice president, commercial administration. Gaudet joined the bank in 2011 as a commercial loan administrator at its office on Exchange Street in Portland.

 

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Robin Sawyer was elected to the board of directors of Camden National Corp. Sawyer is currently president and CEO of Apex Financial Consulting. She will chair the capital committee and serve on the compensation committee for Camden National Corp., and also will join the board of directors of Camden National Bank.

Julia Frederick joined the team at Mitchell & Associates as a senior landscape designer. Frederick worked as a project manager for Stephen Stimson Associates Landscape Architects in Massachusetts before her recent move to Maine.

 

Sebago Technics hired four new design professionals.
Amber Ferland joined as a civil engineer. She brings experience as a project manager for a municipal public works department. Most recently, she was a staff engineer for a national engineering firm.

 

Richard Stone joined as CAD technician/3D modeler. He completed an internship with the city of South Portland, where he modeled various infrastructure facilities.

 

Michael Gammon was hired as a GIS technician. Gammon brings experience in GPS data collection, utility mapping and database management.

 

 

Daniel Danvers was hired as a landscape designer. Danvers previously worked at a landscape design firm in Rhode Island.

 

 

Sebago Technics also hired two new construction inspectors.
Michael Bourque joined as field engineer/inspector. He brings experience in construction inspection, project management, materials testing and quality control that he gained while working for inspection and materials testing companies.

 

Philip Lowe was hired as a senior inspector. Lowe brings more than 45 years of construction management and engineering experience. He is a member of the Sebago Board of Selectmen and spent five years on the Planning Board.

 

Seth Goucher joined Sebago Technics as director of geomatics. Goucher previously worked for Cianbro, where he started their laser scanning services.

 

 

Nicole Scott also joined Sebago Technics as an engineer in its transportation group. Scott previously worked for a Maine traffic consulting firm.

 

 

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Portland rehired Dana Whitney as finance director. Whitney is responsible for overall accounting at Habitat and its retail store, the ReStore. Whitney previously worked for the affiliate until February.

Husson University named Bill Watson as general manager of its southern Maine operation in Westbrook. Watson is director of Husson’s internship and partners program. Before joining Husson, he was president of a Canon technology company.

 

Heather McNally joined Chase Custom Homes and Finance as a code compliance and subdivision planning specialist. McNally has been in the construction and building inspection fields for 26 years. She previously served as the director of code enforcement and zoning administration in Windham. In 2017, she founded a home inspection business called Safe Harbor Inspection Services.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England announced that Patricia Lanoue has affiliated with the company’s Saco office as a sales associate. Lanoue will provide residential real estate services in York and Cumberland counties.

PROMOTIONS
S. Catherine Longley, J.D., will be promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer at the The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor effective July 1. Longley has served as vice president and chief financial officer of the laboratory since August 2016. She also serves as the institutional official for animal welfare and chairs JAX’s 403(b) Retirement Plan Committee.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The Maine Sports Commission recently elected three new members to its board of directors: Carolann Ouellette, Johnny Mehler and Nick Cormier.
Ouellette is executive director of Maine Huts & Trails in Kingfield and a returning board member.
Mehler is a marketing specialist with Spectrum Healthcare Partners, where he created campaigns and training tools for the statewide organization of physicians.
Cormier is the operations coordinator at Broadreach Public Relations in Portland, where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Friedman was previously employed by Group Market Share LLC.

Kerry Corcoran, Rob Montgomery and Julie Zivic joined Rinck, a full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agency.
Corcoran joins the team as a search marketing specialist. She previously worked as a producer/director for WGME-TV editing sales presentations, creating graphics and animation while also directing live newscasts.
Montgomery joined as media billing coordinator. He previously worked at LinkedIn, where he furthered his experience as a contracts and billing administrator and deal strategist.
Zivic joined Rinck as a project manager. She brings more than 10 years of project management experience, previously working as a senior producer with New York City entertainment agency Northern Lights.

Sea Bags announced the addition of Paul Gori as director of retail development.
He brings several years of experience from similar companies.

New Dimensions Federal Credit Union announced it hired Sara Bangs Fifield as a new branch manager for their Augusta location.
Fifield brings 19 years of experience in the financial industry. She previously worked for another financial institution in the Augusta area and has an extensive background in lending and management.

Courtney Brown joined Cardente Real Estate as a graphic designer and marketing director.
Brown previously worked as a digital assistant, marketing strategist, product photographer and social media administrator for various companies.

Jesse Passmore joined Perkins Thompson as an associate attorney in the firm’s business, tax, and trusts and estates practice groups.
Passmore previously worked for Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services group in New York City.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England announced that Tammy Frizzell affiliated with its Saco office.
As a sales associate, Frizzell will provide residential real estate services in York and Cumberland counties. She lives in Old Orchard Beach and brings extensive experience in hospitality, customer service and human resources.

Androscoggin Bank announced several hires and promotions

NEW HIRES
The following people were hired at Androscoggin Bank.
Mary Miller joined the bank as director of mortgage lending and will be based out of the bank’s Lewiston operations center.
Miller has nearly 25 years of banking and management experience, including overseeing retail, commercial and mortgage divisions. She was previously the chief residential lending officer for the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.

Gregory Dauphinee joined the team as vice president, senior mortgage loan officer in its Portland office.
Dauphinee has more than 17 years of experience in the industry, including with multiple lending products for the secondary market and government lending.

Amy Torrey joined as assistant vice president, mortgage loan officer. She is based out of the bank’s Scarborough location.
Torrey previously worked as a mortgage loan officer for Carriage House Mortgage.

 

Maureen Van Uden joined the commercial lending team as senior vice president, lead commercial loan officer. She will supervise the commercial lenders in Portland and Brunswick.
Before joining Androscoggin, she worked at TD Bank for over 20 years and was a senior relationship manager in the commercial lending area.

Alicia Miller joined the bank as vice president, director of client relationships and marketing, based in the Lewiston office.
Miller has over 20 years of experience in marketing, product development and client relationship management.

PROMOTIONS
Scott Sarapas was promoted to vice president, mortgage market leader at Androscoggin Bank.
Sarapas joined the bank as a senior mortgage loan officer in August 2017. He has over 15 years of direct experience in the mortgage industry.

Rob Westhoven was promoted to the newly created position of lead commercial loan officer for the Lewiston/Auburn market.
Westhoven has over 17 years of banking experience. He joined the bank in August 2017.

Zach Ovington was promoted to commercial loan officer 1. Ovington transferred from the bank’s credit division in summer 2017 and was promoted to a commercial loan portfolio officer. He has over 12 years of experience in credit and commercial lending roles.

Denise Tabet was promoted to retail service manager. Tabet served as the bank’s retail operations manager for two years, and was named Androscoggin Bank’s Officer of the Year for 2016. Before her current role, she was a retail manager for three years.

Torri Jones was promoted to retail operations manager.
Jones has been with the bank for 18 years, starting as a teller and working her way through various management roles in the Brunswick region. Most recently, she worked as a compliance officer.

The following people at Androscoggin Bank were named officers: Amy Bergen, Regina Booth, Jason Chadbourne, Steven Davis, Jenny Flagg, Mary Michaud, Zachary Ovington, Jennifer Piper, Debbie Poliquin and Patricia Rumsey.

Charles Luce joined Allen Insurance and Financial as a group benefits account manager.
Luce, based at the company’s offices at 31 Chestnut St. in Camden, will work with clients on a variety of insurance products, including group health, life, dental and disability insurance.
He brings decades of experience in the financial services industry.

Robert Myers joined Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England as an associate broker in its Kennebunk office.
Myers will provide residential real estate services in York and Cumberland counties. He has been helping buyers and sellers since 2014.

Debra Gibb was hired as finance manager for Maine Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
Gibb previously served as director of accounting at Coastal Enterprises Inc., Brunswick.

Cornerstone Financial Planning hired Brittany Landry as manager of the firm’s Union Wharf location in Portland.
Landry, of Falmouth, previously worked for Robert Half, a specialized staffing firm in Portland.

Diversified Communications hired Jane Davis as an account executive.
Davis previously worked for EnsembleIQ, Chicago, Illinois.

PROMOTIONS
Aaron McMorrow was named a partner at Kilbride & Harris Insurance Services, LLC.
McMorrow joined K&H in 2005.

 

 

Wendy Byrd, a group benefits account manager at Allen Insurance and Financial, obtained her State of Maine Life and Health insurance license.
Byrd joined the firm in 2017 and is based in the company’s Benefits Division in Camden. She assists clients with insured benefits questions.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England announced that Leo’s Sold Team, whose members are Leo Bourgeault, Lorri Gould and Rick Gould, affiliated with the Saco sales office was named among the top 50 agents in the company for 2017.
Leo’s Sold Team serves York and Cumberland counties.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Maine Medical Center appointed Jere Michelson as chair of its board of trustees and Katherine Coster as vice chair.
Michelson is president of the Libra Foundation in Portland, where he oversees the philanthropic foundation’s operations and finances.

 

Coster has spent most of her career in commercial banking. She became a trustee of MMC in 2013 and chairs the board education and research committee.

 

Maine Public Relations Council announced its newest board members.
Trevor Jones is vice president of marketing, sales and customer service at OTELCO. Jones has worked in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years.
Yury Nabokov is a social media and digital marketing strategist. He teaches social media marketing at Husson University and works full time at Machias Savings Bank as the innovation and digital strategy manager.
Leah Williams has a degree in digital journalism from Endicott College, and currently serves as social media and marketing assistant at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution.
Meg Handlin is a senior client manager/pr strategist at Broadreach Public Relations. She recently earned the APR accreditation in public relations.

GENERAL
Sarah Ruef-Lindquist, of Allen Financial, was the featured speaker at the May meeting of the MDI Nonprofit Alliance.
Ruef-Lindquist spoke about policy foundations and recognition practices necessary to have fiscally-sound and successful planned giving programs.

Heal, of Westbrook, has more than 20 years experience in the health care industry with 10 years as a director, case management and vocational rehab services at Unum.

Barrett Parks has joined MEMIC as a safety management consultant.
Parks, of Woodland, most recently worked for the state as an assistant engineer designing drainage systems. He is a Maine registered engineer-in-training, certified logging professional and commercial driver.

Locations Real Estate Group has announced three new hires.
Dana Dresser brings more than a decade of experience in real estate.
Chad Latham is an owner of Listing Tunnel, which uses Matterport 3D tours.
Michael Fitzgibbons brings years of real estate experience with extensive knowledge in the finance world. He is also an owner of Listing Tunnel.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England has announced that Patricia Lanoue is now affiliated with the company’s Saco office as a sales associate. A Saco resident, she will provide residential real estate services in York and Cumberland counties.

Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty has announced that Michele Perejda has been hired as a senior vice president.
Perejda, an investor who is a resident of the Munjoy Hill neighborhood in Portland, has been practicing real estate for more than 17 years.

PROMOTIONS
The MEMIC Group has announced the promotion of Karen Flaherty to director, financial operations, and Kristen Wintle to director, compensation and benefits.
Flaherty, of Portland, first joined MEMIC in 1995 as a financial accountant. She was promoted from senior accountant to manager of financial accounting operations in 2015.
Wintle, of Windham, joined MEMIC in 1996 as a human resources coordinator and became payroll administrator in 2002.

Karen Dmytrasz, M.D., joined Maine Medical Partners–Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Dmytrasz will be seeing patients at the outpatient Geriatric Center, St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence, and other nursing home locations. She will also be the interim medical director at Hospice of Southern Maine.
Claudia Picone, M.D., joined MMP–Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Picone is board certified in internal medicine. She was previously with Eastern Maine Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor.

Forest Sheppard, M.D., has joined MMP–Acute Care Surgery.
Dr. Sheppard is board certified in surgery and the subspecialty of surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.

 

Nathan J. Aranson, M.D., joined MMP–Surgical Care.
Dr. Aranson is double board certified in general and vascular surgery. After his fellowship, he worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle for two years, caring for patients across the spectrum of vascular illness.
Toby Fitzgerald, D.O., joined MMP–Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Karyn Woelflein, M.D., has joined the Pain Center at Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Woelflein is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She joins Mercy after more than 15 years of practicing in Maine. She was previously at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, as well as private practice in Brunswick and Lewiston.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Mercy Hospital announced that Dr. Laura Blaisdell of InterMed; and Lisa Toner, most recently of Maine Public, have joined its board of trustees.

Dr. Blaisdell completed a residency in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center in 2005. She is a practicing pediatrician and currently serves as the chair of the department of pediatrics at InterMed.

 

Lisa Toner, Esq., recently retired as director of human resources for Maine Public Broadcasting Network. Prior to joining Maine Public, she was vice president of legal affairs for Hannaford Bros. She lives in Portland.

Dillingham was hired as director of water quality. She brings 30 years of experience in the water utility industry.

Scaplan joined as an engineer. He recently completed a master’s degree in sustainable engineering at Villanova University. He will provide technical support and service to all of Maine Water’s public water systems.

Linda Durst, M.D., joined Maine Behavioral Healthcare as senior vice president of medical and clinical affairs and chief of psychiatry for Maine Medical Center. Dr. Durst previously worked for Hartford Hospital as medical director and associate chief of the department of psychiatry at The Institute of Living.
She will be responsible for the overall clinical operation of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, including the 100-bed Spring Harbor Hospital, and psychiatric services of Maine Medical Center, Coastal Healthcare Alliance and Southern Maine Health Care.

Hussey Seating hired Bill Capon as director of manufacturing. Capon previously served as director of corporate Honeywell Operating Systems at Honeywell International in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

Mercy Hospital announced that Nina Edwards, MD has joined Portland Surgical Associates as a general surgeon.
Dr. Edwards has practiced in Maine for the past 12 years, including at Central Maine Medical Center and York Hospital. She is a board-certified surgeon who began her career in Michigan before moving to Maine in 2006.

Stroudwater has announced two new hires.
Heidi Larson, MD, is a family physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience.
Dr. Larson previously worked with Massachusetts General Hospital helping to establish a primary care clinic on Nantucket. She also worked as medical director for population health at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Cynthia Wicks joined Stroudwater as a principal.

Lindsay Corcoran was promoted to senior consultant.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The Environmental Health Strategy Center has appointed a new board member.
David Bennell is the food, land, and water manager for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

PROMOTIONS
The University of New England named Karen Pardue as dean of the Westbrook College of Health Professions.
Pardue served as interim dean of the college during the 2017-2018 academic year. She brings several years of curriculum development and assessment experience as well as faculty development and specialty accreditation expertise.

UNE also appointed Karen Houseknecht, Ph.D., as the associate provost for research and scholarship.
Houseknecht has served as the interim dean for the UNE College of Pharmacy since June 2017 and also serves as professor of pharmacology in the UNE College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The University of Maine appointed Dr. Eric C. Brown as interim president of the University of Maine at Farmington.
Brown has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at UMF since December 2016. He has been a faculty member at UMF since 2003, serving as assistant professor of English, associate professor of English, and from 2012 to 2017 as professor of English.

Thos. Moser appointed former Bristol Seafood co-founder Darrell Pardy as vice president and chief operating officer.
Pardy co-founded Bristol Seafood LLC in 1992 and sold the company in 2016. He has served as chief financial officer for the last nine months.

PROMOTIONS

n Mercy Hospital promoted Michael Duffy, M.D., to senior physician executive, the hospital’s most senior medical position.

Since 2010, Dr. Duffy has assumed roles that include regional physician executive of Mercy Hospital and medical director of primary care. He also served as the vice president of the Mercy Medical Group since 2016.

n Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and Blue Hill Memorial Hospital appointed Kristin Cyr as the new senior nursing executive and vice president of patient care services.

Cyr most recently served as the EMHS director of compliance, and had the opportunity to work with both hospitals in that role. Prior to joining the EMHS Compliance team in 2014, Cyr worked for 13 years in various clinical and leadership roles at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

n SeniorsPlus announced the promotion of two employees in its Lewiston office.

Holly Zielinski was promoted to chief operating officer. Zielinski was previously director of community services. She brings more than 20 years of experience working with older adults.

Tracy Smith, a provider contracts supervisor, was promoted to policy and contracts manager within EIM, the organization’s homecare coordination service area.

n Ellen DaCorte, R.N., has been nominated for the Maine Hospital Association’s Caregiver of the Year award.

DaCorte has served her community for more than 20 years.

n The American College of Health Care Administrators honored Jim Adamowicz, administrator of Piper Shores in Scarborough, with the 2018 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award.

Adamowicz, of Falmouth, has been chief executive officer of Piper Shores since 2013. Under his leadership, the organization added a $14 million memory care and assisted living residence and recently a 2,800-square-foot arts center.

n The National Association of Medical Examiners granted Maine’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner full accreditation, citing it as “one of the best medical examiner offices in the country.”

The 12-person office is led by Mark Flomenbaum, M.D., Ph.D., who was appointed by Gov. Paul LePage in August 2014 after serving as deputy chief.

According to a statement, the medical examiner’s office has reduced the backlog of cases from multiple hundreds to zero; reduced turnaround time for case completion from four to five months to less than three to four weeks; upgraded and improved mortuary equipment to increase efficiency and protect health of staff; and created a new position to manage and track data for demographic, statistical, and other forensic purposes.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

n Trademark Federal Credit Union announced that Melanie Daigle was elected to its board of directors. Previously, Daigle served on the credit union’s supervisory committee.

In June, the following board directors were appointed to fill unexpired terms: Blaine Gonthier, logistics analyst for retail business services; and Alyson Leeper, private brand specialist for Delhaize. The supervisory committee added a new member, Pam Rudman, senior corporate auditor for Ahold Delhaize.

n Kennebunk Savings elected Paul Gurney to its board of directors.

Gurney, of Alfred, is a software architect and developer and the founder of Expression Computing.

n Infinity FCU elected the following people to its board of directors.

Sam Novick was re-elected to the board as chair. He has a long history of community involvement holding leadership roles such as president of Portland Kiwanis Club, president of Temple Beth El, and board member of United Way of Greater Portland.

Kate Caron was re-elected to the board as vice chair. Caron is a licensed real estate agent working for The Real Estate Network.
