Brian Townsend was named executive director of Amistad Inc.
He succeeds Peter Driscoll, who has served as executive director since 1996.
Townsend previously worked at Preble Street in Portland as its director of social work and as a member of its clinical intervention program, working to address issues of homelessness, poverty and mental illness.

PROMOTIONS
Preservation Management Inc. announces two promotions:

Christine Jenkinson was named president and CEO.
Jenkinson, of Portland, joined PMI in 2009, managing special assets for the president. In 2010, she was promoted to chief operating officer and was named senior vice president in 2013. She has over 17 years of experience in the affordable housing industry.

E. Whitney Soule was named dean of admissions and financial aid at Bowdoin College.
She succeeds Scott Meiklejohn, who will become senior vice president for development and alumni relations at the college.
Soule joined the admissions staff at Bowdoin in the summer of 2008 as senior associate dean. A year later, she was named director of admissions.

Competitive Energy Services announced three promotions:
Michelle Tham was promoted to director of analytics.
Tham joined CES in 2007 as an analyst and has grown her expertise in commodity markets, regulatory issues, renewable energy, tariff and contract negotiations and facility operations.
Greg Smith was named senior energy analyst.
Smith joined CES in 2012 after receiving his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Maine.
Matt Gamache was promoted to energy and renewables analyst. Gamache joined CES as an energy analyst in 2014.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
The United Way of Eastern Maine announced four new board members: John Canders, Peter Dawes, Pat Kimball and Sno Barry.

Canders recently joined Bangor Savings Bank. He works as both a lawyer and a banker.

Dawes currently serves as the vice president, strategy, performance and planning for Emera Maine.

Kimball, of Hermon, recently retired from her position of 15 years as the executive director for Wellspring, a substance abuse and mental health treatment center in Bangor.

Barry, of Ellsworth, is a principal at BerryDunn, a CPA and consulting firm.

Maine State Music Theatre elected three new members to its board of trustees. Marie Barbieri, Reginald Elwell, and Melissa Knutson – all from Brunswick – joined the 25-member board for two-year terms.

Barbieri is a former professor, who taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Williams College and Bowdoin College. Elwell spent 28 years in the forest products industry in central and eastern Maine. Knutson is the vice president and commercial loan officer at the Brunswick branch of Androscoggin Bank.

GENERAL
Records Management Center and ShredSafe LLC announced the acquisition of Shredding On Site, a Waterville-based shredding company.

The combined teams are integrating to operate secure on-site document and e-media destruction services. All of the staff, equipment and service scheduling will remain the same.

The name Shredding On Site is also being retained, and will be used as the name for the on-site document destruction services arm of the business.
